Kelvin Tiller is going into his PFL Week 6 fight not just to represent himself.
Growing up in the rough neighborhood of East Gate in Topeka, Kan., “Mama’s Boy” Tiller strives to be that ray of hope for young kids in his area. He looks back at his troubled past and how he would have loved for there to be someone to guide him towards the right path.
“My community and just the worst neighborhoods, I want to be that guy to help those guys get through, not help them get through it, but stop them before they start the bad things, so I just want to be that guy,” Tiller told MMA Junkie Radio on Monday. “I’ve been in a lot of shootouts, a lot of fights and carrying guns, selling drugs, and I feel like if I had that guy in my life telling me not to do those things, not just telling me not to do those things but showing me a different way, I think things would have been a lot different for me.”
