Known as “Silverback,” Thad Jean has had an impressive run since turning pro in 2021, earning five victories (with three finishes) in five noteworthy MMA promotions. A striking specialist, Jean competed in the PFL Challenger Series in January, scoring a unanimous decision over Eric Alequin and earning a PFL contract. Jean also has an amateur third-round TKO victory over 2022 PFL welterweight runner-up Dilano Taylor.

 

After an impressive amateur run with a 9-2 record with lightweight and welterweight titles, Ali Omar turned pro in 2018. A striking expert, Omar currently sports a 5-2 record. He competed in the PFL Challenger Series in March — his first MMA action in about two years — defeating Sanon Sadeck via split decision.

 

These two Challenger Series alums will look to leave another impression when they do battle here in a welterweight showcase that tops the opening card in San Antonio.

Jean and Omar exchange heavy leg kicks, and Jean lands a good jab. Jean lands another solid jab, but Omar throws a high kick. Omar continues to work his kicks, but he eats a right jab from Jean.
