A two-time PFL Semifinalist and the winningest Heavyweight in PFL history, Denis Goltsov looks to make 2023 the season he gets over the hump, and that quest starts against a late notice replacement in Cezar Ferreira. Ferreira moves up a weight class and looks to add Goltsov to a resume that includes wins over Thiago Santos and Anthony Smith. Goltsov was the number one seed entering last year’s Playoffs but wasn’t able to compete because of visa issues and looks to prove that he’s the best Heavyweight on the PFL roster this year.

Round 1

The final Heavyweight bout of the first half of the Regular Season is underway as Goltsov takes the center of the SmartCage and begins to stalk Ferreira. Ferreira opens the offensive action rushing in behind a pair of hooks that Goltsov is able to block before Goltsov returns with a heavy roundhouse kick to the body. Goltsov closes the distance and clinches, landing a big knee to the body and just missing with a high kick on the break.

Ferreira slips the jab and counters with a nice right hand but Goltsov lands a perfect outside trip and lands in top half guard. Goltsov is posturing up and landing some big shots now. Ferreira is starting to shell up now as Goltsov lands a clean shot through his guard and the referee is looking closely! Goltsov lands another pair of massive shots and that’ll be all she wrote, our third straight Quick Six to begin the night.
