In a compelling rematch at Heavyweight, our co-main event features 2021 PFL World Champion Bruno Cappelozza taking on his fellow countryman Matheus Scheffel, who happens to be the last man to beat him in the SmartCage, snapping a five-fight winning streak. Both fighters have muay thai backgrounds and Scheffel actually stepped into the PFL Playoffs last year and was the Runner-Up after a Cappelozza injury forced him out of the Playoffs.
Round 1
With no touch of the gloves our co-main event is underway. Scheffel takes control of the center of the SmartCage as both fighters look to find the range and Cappelozza lands a big leg kick. Cappelozza now lands a big front kick as Scheffel tries to walk him down and can’t find a home for his big punches.
Right on cue, Scheffel lands a big right hand that gets the attention of Cappelozza. Scheffel appears to be finding his footing as he continues coming forward and lands two big hooks around the guard of Cappelozza and OH MY! Bruno Cappelozza is BACK, dropping Scheffel with a monstrous straight right hand and swarming with the ground and pound for a finish as Scheffel seems to have no idea where he’s at, that was violent.
